Prayer is our rock and our mainstay at all times, and is a particular blessing in the current situation.  We are also blessed that there are so many ways that we can keep in touch and be prayer partners in this day and age.

We hope to be able to hold weekly online prayer meetings through Zoom.com.  To this end, a few of us tried it out last Wednesday, hosting the prayer supper through Zoom.  It wasn’t possible to still provide jacket potatoes or prayer stations remotely, but as a prayer venue it worked well!  So there will be an open invitation to all at Christ Church to join us at the next one.  If you would like an invitation to join us, please email debbi.stott@christchurchmoreton.org.uk and you will be added to the invite list, and provided instructions on how to join us.  It is pretty straight forward.

We are hoping to partner everyone up across the various services to support one another by regular phone calls etc, so that we remain closely bonded to one another as a church family.  Those phone calls would be a great opportunity just to say a simple prayer or two together, and there are all sorts of resources that can help you as you do so.

If anyone would like prayer for anything, the prayer ministry team are still available via sayoneforme@christchurchmoreton.org.uk.  Send in your prayer request, and I will forward it to members of the prayer ministry team.

Below I’ve listed some resources for prayer for personal use during the time when Church services are suspended, or for use when you contact one another by whatever means.

The Church of England provides daily worship resources which can be found at https://www.churchofengland.org/prayer-and-worship/join-us-service-daily-prayer and there is an app you can download that provides the same.  The CofE is hoping to expand these resources to include audio recordings so that you can listen to daily prayer rather than simply reading it.

https://www.churchofengland.org/more/media-centre/coronavirus-liturgy-and-prayer-resources gives a page of prayers you can us in regard to the current situation.

The Hope website has a great set of prayer resources, and can be found at https://www.hopetogether.org.uk/Groups/194931/Prayer_Resources.aspx

If you own a google or Alexa device why not try :

“Alexa, open the Church of England”

“Hey Google, talk to the Church of England”
